SIGNIS AWARD
La Organización Católica Mundial para los Medios de Comunicación, through its jury composed of Teresa Ekobo, María del Mar Navarrete, Mari Carmen Alonso and Rafael Pérez Pallarés, has decided to give the SIGNIS Award to the film
Radical, by Cristopher Zalla.
The jury wishes to highlight that, in an edition of the Malaga Festival that has wanted to focus on non-productive ages, Radical is a film that makes us aware of the most disadvantaged children, the boys and girls who face every day the harshness of their environment, family difficulties, unwanted loneliness, uprooting, poverty....And it reminds us of our duty to help, or to do as the protagonist of the film does, everything in our power to help and at the same time to receive the light that each one of these little ones also have.
In addition, the Jury gives the
SPECIAL MENTION to
La casa, by Álex Montoya, appreciating the choral work by the actors and the summer light in its photography. It reflects the family love in generations. It makes us experience rivalries, nostalgia, regret, the desire for the future, the strength of memory and honours our elders and their loneliness.
