Ara Malikian

Ara Malikian is a Spanish violinist of Lebanese origin and Armenian descent.

At an early age, his talent was recognised despite the circumstances he lived through as a result of the Lebanese civil war, studying for long periods in bomb shelters. He had his first big concert when he was 12 years old and, at the age of 14, the conductor Hans Herbert-Jöris heard his work, granting him a scholarship from the German government to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theatre Hannover.

He furthered his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, as well as getting lessons from some of the most prestigious teachers in the world.

Recently, he released an album as a nod to his 15 years in Spain, with great collaborations at the Teatro Real de Madrid.

The 15 tour, one of the biggest in recent years, was a success among the public and critics, with more than 175,000 audience members and more than 150 concerts.

With his new album The Incredible History of Violin, he performed his world tour with his violin, travelling through his life, achieving worldwide prestige and visiting the most important capitals of the world with concerts in the most prestigious auditoriums and theatres in the world: London, Paris, Rome, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Lima, Santiago de Chile, Beijing, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Belgrade, Bratislava, Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, etc.

In 2019, his new Royal Garage World Tour began with the release of his latest album Royal Garage, which featured collaborations with artists like Andrés Calamaro, Enrique Bunbury and Serj Tankian.

His latest tour, Petit Garage, the result of a world in the midst of a pandemic and the previous Royal Garage tour, was transformed into a piano and violin show with more limited capacities but full of emotions.

A different atmosphere that also was transferred to the music and to the audience. A truly special, intimate, and personal concert that took us from the Dubai Opera to Michoacán in Mexico and the Royal Palace of Madrid.
