Creation as an act and as a right (authorship, remuneration and content)

Filmmaking is, above all, an act of expression: converting ideas, emotions and visions into an audiovisual story capable of dialogue with society. This process involves risk, craft and a cultural responsibility that cannot be separated from the rights of those who drive it. Recognising authorship means understanding that each film has a creative origin that must be protected, both in its integrity and in the different processes necessary for its execution and its destination. At the same time, it is a professional job that demands fair remuneration; without this, creative freedom is weakened and the diversity of voices is impoverished. Content is meant to circulate and meet the public, but it must be disseminated on any screen with respect for the creators. Only when creation, rights and material conditions go hand in hand is it possible to create an independent cinema with real cultural value.

ACTING OUT PRIVACY

How intimate scenes in cinema are constructed today
Managing scenes of an intimate nature in an audiovisual project requires an authentic and inclusive representation of sexuality. New tools and protocols are now available to preserve acting talent in highly sensitive and delicate scenes during casting, pre-production and filming processes.  Privacy coordination and protocols offer a new look at a safer cinema for the performer and more comfortable for direction, as well as preventing abusive power dynamics of any kind (gender-based violence, sexual abuse or harassment, discrimination based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, economic or psychological status); based on the pillars of consent.

Speakers:
Rosa Estévez. President of APDICE (Professional Association of Casting Directors) She will present the new privacy protocol for auditions.
Maitane San Nicolás. Vice-President of AESCI (Association for the Coordination of Privacy). She will explain the value of this figure and new working methodologies in intimate scenes.
Ramón Salazar. Director with great experience in sex scenes in series such as ‘Élite’.
Alejandro Albarracín. Actor and Helena Kaittani. Actress. They will tell us about their experiences in such scenes and how they have changed after the inclusion of these safety measures for performers

Moderator: Mercedes Hoyos. Actress. Director and dubbing actress

Presenting the event: Marta Velasco. President of the Andalusian Film Academy.
