Lawyer and director of the promotional brand Sabor a Málaga, she is passionate about the aromas, colours, and flavours of her homeland. She grew up with solid values of respect for the product, recognising the work and effort of the families who, with a masterful craftsmanship, provide us with delicacies that strive for excellence.
For more than a decade, she has been leading the brand created by Diputación de Málaga, planning and promoting activities that encourage and raise awareness of the culinary and gastronomic wealth of Malaga.
Daily, she develops strategies and collaborations with different sectors, including the audiovisual one, to continue building opportunities in the 104 corners of the city, opening windows to the world, and allowing the actors in this choral story (producers, chefs, restorers, small traders, self-employed, distributors, schools, and associations linked to the agri-food, livestock, and hospitality sectors) to tell the brilliant story of Sabor a Málaga. A story worthy of being spread from the big screen to the most modest living room at home.
She recognises that cinema, and its ability to tell and convey the gastronomic essence of Malaga, has become an essential resource for capturing in our minds experiences and feelings that bring us closer to the soul of Sabor a Malaga.
President of the Real Academia de Gastronomía, Luis Suárez de Lezo is an enthusiast of diverse, accessible, sustainable, and quality cuisine. He is fascinated by Spanish products and has a close relationship with chefs, producers, markets, and companies related to Spanish cuisine, with an intensive agenda that includes more than 250 visits to restaurants per year, both in Spain and abroad.
For Suárez de Lezo, cuisine is a cross-cutting part of our society with a great cultural impact: dishes, culinary traditions and products reflect the history and values of a community, connecting people with their cultural roots and patrimony. It is a window onto our heritage and builds bridges between its past, present, and future.
