‘La Villa del Mar' bringing live music with 9 concerts at the 28th Festival de Málaga
This new section of the event will feature two performances a day from 15 to 19 March on La Malagueta Beach.
From 15 to 22 March, La Malagueta Beach will be transformed into the epicentre of entertainment, technology, creativity and sustainability with the birth of 'La Villa del Mar', a unique space promoted by the Festival de Málaga in collaboration with the Polo Digital. A new project that aims to explore the synergies between the audiovisual industry, culture and new technologies, offering a vibrant and innovative experience for all audiences.
In this innovative space, a programme of live concerts has also been scheduled, with free admission, and two performances a day, one at 1:00 pm and another at 5:00 pm, from 15 to 19 March. The project offers an exceptional opportunity to enjoy music in a unique setting, where sea and culture will meet in perfect harmony, thanks to the essential support of Google, EVAD, Olin, Iryo, Media Brands and Repsol, official sponsors of 'La Villa del Mar'.
The programme of concerts will begin on Saturday 15 March at 1:00 pm with singer Celia Flores and guitarist Rycardo Moreno, who will be presenting 'La Vida una letra de la vida', a daring proposal that fuses flamenco and the Mediterranean with technology. The following session will be a performance by Alonso, leader of the legendary band Napoleón Solo, who is currently developing a solo project. He will be presenting his first album '¿Qué es querer?', an intimate work that encompasses genres such as pop, rumba, flamenco, electronica and Latin jazz.
On the second day, Sunday 16 March, the music gets under way with a performance by Malaga guitarist Lito Fernández, who returns with his band to offer a journey through The Blues, accompanied by Federico Álvarez, Jesús Ramos and Gus Herrera. At 5.00 pm Cristalino will be on stage, serving up a fusion of club music, hyperpop and urban music with a base of pop and folk melodies. His unique style has earned him a Goya Award nomination for 'Segundo Premio' and recognition as a newcomer at the Carmen Awards.
On Monday 17 March at 1:00 pm it will be the turn of El Zurdo, who returns with his trio to offer a show where roots and tradition come together in an authentic and unfiltered musical proposal. The early evening performance at 5.00 pm will feature Tonia Rodríguez, a singer and composer from Malaga who will be presenting her album 'Sueños Cantados', a project that reflects her quest to transmit her universal music to the dreamers who share her vibe.
The Neapolitan rapper Dan Shiva Da Machine will be performing on Tuesday 18 March at 1:00 pm, conjuring up an intimate and vibrant atmosphere with a musical proposal that fuses rap in several languages with electronic music and a live band. At 5:00 pm on the same day, Soul Station will be offering an energetic and emotion-packed show, performing both great soul classics and fresh, modern versions, transmitting their own essence through this universal music.
The last day of this musical showcase at 'La Villa del Mar' will feature a unique concert at 1:00 pm by La Asociación de Amantes del Jazz de Málaga (AmaJazz), who will be performing a show inspired by jazz in film, exploring both Spanish cinema and Hollywood classics. With a jazz sextet made up of some of the most outstanding musicians on the Malaga scene, music will become the perfect soundtrack for this event.
