Festival de Málaga and RTVE announce a new screenplay award for short film projects
The deadline for submissions is 2 February and the winner will receive a grant of €15,000 for the development of their proposal

 

Festival de Málaga — organised by the Malaga City Council and RTVE announce the first RTVE Festival de Málaga / Malaga Short Corner Talent Award for the best short film project with the aim of promoting audiovisual creation by providing the winners with resources that contribute to the production of their work.

These grants are aimed at short fiction film production projects with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and national scope. The deadline for submission is 2 February 2026.

The winning short film project will receive a grant of €15,000 (VAT included), which will be used in its entirety to develop the project and turn it into an audiovisual short film. RTVE will supervise the development and subsequent production. In addition, the winning short film will have its Spanish premiere at the Festival de Málaga in 2027.

All natural or legal persons registered as producers in the ICAA's Register of Film and Audiovisual Companies and all natural or legal persons registered as producers in the film company register of an Autonomous Community may participate in this call for applications. Each company may submit a maximum of two projects.

The committee will select a maximum of five projects that will participate in the Malaga Short Corner section of MAFIZ, the industry area of the Festival de Málaga, which will be held in Malaga between 10 and 12 March 2026. Participants will present their project (pitch format) in a group session in front of the jury and several national and international professionals present in the market. The jury will include a representative of RTVE.
