The 29th Festival de Málaga hosts, in the Films and Health space, a colloquium that evokes the nostalgia of childhood
The Albéniz Cinema screened the film Truman by Cesc Gay this Friday, 13 March.

The 29th Festival de Málaga, organized by the City Council of Málaga through Málaga Procultura, hosted this Friday, 13 March, a new edition of Films and Health at the Albéniz Cinema, a section held in collaboration with Quirónsalud where audiovisual works become a tool for raising awareness about health-related issues.

The section focused its session on nostalgia, with the screening of Truman by Cesc Gay, and featured Dr. María Antonia Fernández Merlo and Dr. Isabel Leiva Aranda, specialists in Family and Community Medicine at Hospital Quirón, in the colloquium held after the screening.

The film, released in 2015, tells the story of Julián and Tomás, two childhood friends who reunite after many years and spend a few unforgettable days together – especially because this will be their farewell. The Barcelona-born screenwriter and director Cesc Gay directed his first solo film in 2003, En la ciudad, for which he received several nominations at the Goya Awards.

With this new session of Films and Health, the Festival de Málaga reinforces its commitment to cinema as a tool for social transformation and raising awareness.
