SYNOPSIS Thermal images that reveal the nocturnal movements in the middle of the Paraná River carried out by women workers, known as paseras, on the Argentine-Paraguayan border. TThis activity has been documented for 170 years. The work is a subversive collective testimony in resistance that narrates the conditions in which this cross-border activity continues to be carried out.
Maira Ayala
She was born in Paraguay in 1998. She has a degree in Combined Arts from the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste and develops her work mainly in video. She has worked as assistant director, field producer and art director in audiovisual productions, including
Vyshyvanka in Paraguay and
Inheriting Hood in USA. She collaborates with the Cinecable Association, which produces, promotes and disseminates regional and Latin American cinema.
