SYNOPSIS In Ahmedabad, Isabel runs an animation workshop for a group of henna tattoo artists called Mehndi. She interviews them about their dreams: Ramia wishes to fly, Saadiya dreams of a women’s parliament, Shubhashree longs to travel to Switzerland, and Samira claims her independence through rap.

Isabel Herguera San Sebastian, 1961. She graduated from the UPV/EHU in Bilbao, then continued her studies at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, and obtained a master’s from CalArts LA. She directed the Animac festival in Lleida from 2003 to 2013, and was responsible for co-ordinating the Arteleku Laboratorio de Imagen en Movimiento in San Sebastian from 2005 to 2014. She is regarded as one of the pioneering women of independent animation in Spain. She is also a senior lecturer at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln, and a visiting professor at both NID-Vijayawada and CAFA-Beijing.
