SYNOPSIS The untold story of the most secret and unknown Berlanga. The director himself will guide the narrator through a prop warehouse filled with memories that once resided in his Somosaguas studio and had remained concealed until now. In this chaotic setting, the narrator will converse with a veteran 'Berlanguian girl', listen to the filmmaker's poems and letters from the front, and witness the characters from several of his unfilmed scripts come to life.
José Luis García Berlanga In 1997, he co-founded the production company La Salamandra with Fernando Colomo, producing Tigres de papel (1977), Qué hace una chica como tú en un sitio como este (1978), and Ópera prima (1980). In the late 1980s, he established his own commercial production company, directing campaigns for brands such as Ford and Peugeot. While working on the campaign for Fairy’s Villarriba y Villabajo, he proposed a TV series with the same name, which he produced, wrote, and directed for RTVE in 1994. He continued his work in television, writing, directing, and producing series like La banda de Pérez (1997) and Don Juan (1997). As director or executive producer, he contributed to R.I.S. Científica (2007), M.I.R. (2007), and Hospital Central (2000–2012). He also directed two feature films: Barrios altos (1987) and Viva la vida (2019). FILMOGRAPHY Viva la vida (feature film, 2019), R.I.S. Científica (TV series, 2007), M.I.R. (TV series, 2007-2008), Sin tetas no hay paraíso (TV series, 2008-2009), Hospital Central (TV series, 2000-2012), Don Juan (TV series, 1997), Villarriba y Villabajo (feature film, 1994), Barrios altos (feature film, 1987)
