SYNOPSIS Carlo is an eccentric watchmaker who seems to possess a strange ability: he can alter the lives of the townspeople. As he repairs gears, adjusts the hands, or winds up clocks, he pushes their owners into extreme situations, challenging them to fight for control over their outrageous destinies. Will these townspeople be able to cope with their own pet peeves?
Javier Polo He is a Valencian filmmaker who cannot imagine comedy without dark humor, absurd situations, and eccentric characters. He has written, produced, and directed two documentary feature films that have consistently embraced these three principles, achieving significant international recognition: Europe in 8 Bits, which premiered at IDFA, and The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo, selected for SXSW and nominated for the Gaudí Awards. He has also directed numerous short films, including A Shitty Therapy, which was recently nominated for a Goya and won both the Feroz and Berlanga Awards. Pet Peeves is his first narrative feature film, in which he intensifies the use of surrealism, color, and extravagance. FILMOGRAPHY Una terapia de mierda (short film, 2022), The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo (documentary, 2020), Europa en 8 bits (documentary, 2013)
