SYNOPSIS Metacíclica is a neologism referring to six actresses who transcend the rules. Despite their experience, none of them are offered leading roles.
Lydia Zimmermann Artist, screenwriter, and film director born in Barcelona to Swiss parents, with a Master’s in Artistic Transdisciplinarity (ZHdK). Her first short film, Biorxa (1995), is part of the CCCB collection. She wrote and directed Wake (Best Short Film at the Bilbao Film Festival) and co-directed Aro Tolbukhin (Ariel Award 2002). Between 2003 and 2006, she directed the TV films La Dona de Gel and Segona Pell. As a documentarian, her notable works include Felix & Nati and Maria Conversa. She lived in Haiti (2011-2013), while working at Cine Institute. From 2016 to 2019, she created The Therese Trilogy. In 2020, she collaborated with Indigenous media collectives to create Ayenan.
