SYNOPSIS Based on the short stories of American writer David James Poissant,
The Heaven of Animals is a collection of tales about loss. Four stories about the deceased, past and future: those who were, those who will be, and those who are leaving before our eyes.
Santi Amodeo
In the early stages of his career, he teamed up with fellow Andalusian Alberto Rodríguez (
El factor Pilgrim). Later, as a solo director, he was nominated for Best New Director at the Goya Awards for his film
Astronautas, which was selected by
Variety as one of the ten best European films of the year. He has participated in most of the major film festivals worldwide: Toronto, Shanghai, AFI Fest in Los Angeles, Mar del Plata, Karlovy Vary, Berlin, Sundance, Locarno, among others. In Spain, he has been featured in festivals such as Málaga, where he won the Best Actor award; San Sebastián, receiving an honorable mention in the New Directors section; and Valladolid, also receiving an honorable mention in the New Directors category, among others. His feature film
Cabeza de perro was the first Spanish film to win an award at the Shanghai International Film Festival, the most prestigious in Asia.
