SYNOPSIS Aisha lives in a kingdom of 11th-century Al-Andalus, where fireworks are the most popular spectacle. She dreams of becoming a great pyrotechnician like the legendary Master Hao, but her father, Ahmad, insists that she follow the family tradition of calligraphy. When an alchemist, Txawir, tricks Aisha into stealing a dangerous book guarded by her father, Ahmad is unjustly imprisoned. Aisha embarks on an adventure-filled journey to recover the book and free her father.
Shadi Adib
Tehran, Iran. She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication and a master's in Animation from the University of Tehran. In 2013, she emigrated to Germany to study animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Her project
Filmfabrik was selected as the official trailer for the ITFS 2015. In 2016, she directed two short films for the Haus der Geschichte in Stuttgart to mark the 150th anniversary of Carl Lämmle. In 2017, she completed her short film
Fuse, which was entirely hand-animated and featured Nick Cave as the voice actor.
Fuse competed in festivals such as Annecy and Stuttgart, winning several awards. That year, she worked as an animator on
The Amazing World of Gumball. In 2018, she won the pitch competition at Animation for Europe with her short film
Ode, which premiered at ITFS 2019.
La luz de Aisha is her first animated feature film.
