SYNOPSIS Agustín Gómez Arcos stood out as a playwright in the 1950s, but the modernity and freedom of his work led to his censorship and pushed him into exile. In France, he became a successful novelist, although he remained largely unknown in Spain. After decades of oblivion, in 2006, the publishing house Cabaret Voltaire began translating and publishing his novels for the first time in his own country.
