
The first documentary feature by Chema Rodríguez, Estrellas de la Línea, won the Audience Award in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), a Special Jury Mention at the Málaga Film Festival, and the Sebastiane Award at the San Sebastián Film Festival. Since then, he has written and directed nearly one hundred feature films, standalone productions, and episodes for television series, both fiction and documentary. His films have been selected, and often awarded, at other festivals such as IDFA, Karlovy Vary, Toronto, Rome, Tokyo, and Guadalajara. He was also nominated for the Goya Awards in the category of Best Adapted Screenplay for his film Anochece en la India, which received the Silver Biznaga for Best Actor (Juan Diego) and the Silver Biznaga for Best Editing at the Málaga Film Festival. His previous film is Orgullo Vieja, winner of the Audience Award at the Málaga Film Festival and selected to participate in the San Sebastián Film Festival.
