SYNOPSIS The awards that bear his name are a symbol of prestige in Spanish cinema, yet José María Forqué remains a largely unrecognized figure. This documentary revisits his legacy through his own voice and those of actors and filmmakers who knew him. A journey through popular Spanish cinema, from the box-office successes of the 1950s and the Silver Bear in Berlin to his consecration as a master of comedy and television, and an intimate portrait of a filmmaker who used to say he was known only as “Verónica Forqué’s father.”
Gaizka Urresti Film director, producer, and screenwriter. He has produced films by directors such as Carlos Saura, Agustí Villaronga, and Santiago Tabernero, among others. His work has received multiple awards, including the Goya Award for the short film Abstenerse Agencias in 2014, and the Goya and Forqué Awards for Best Documentary Feature in 2023 for Labordeta, un hombre sin más.
