History of previous editions of the Malaga Festival

The eleventh edition of the Málaga Festival presented a series of films. There will be a very varied Official Competition Section with fifteen titles from genres as diverse as comedy, science fiction or social drama. ‘We are all invited’, directed by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, was in charge of inaugurating this edition. The film, which reflected the political situation in the Basque Country during the nineties, achieved popularity. win the Special Jury Prize and the Best Supporting Actor Award for Óscar Jaenada.

The apocalyptic thriller ‘3 días’, by newcomer F. Javier Gutiérrez, was a hit. It will be the big surprise this year, grabbing, in addition to the Golden Biznaga, the awards for best new script, best supporting actress (Mariana Cordero) and best makeup.

Actress Silvia Munt, who attended the event. to the Malaga competition with her first fiction feature film of hers as a director, ‘Pretexts & rsquo;, received a prize. the Biznaga for best director for this work, which was also awarded in the category of best photography. ‘Cobardes’, the second album by the authors of ‘Tapas’, José Corbacho and Juan Cruz, received the for its part, the Critics' Award.

In the interpretative section, the jury awarded the jury. to Ana Fernández the award for best actress for her work in ‘Welcome to Farewell-Gutmann & rsquo; and Javier Cámara for Best Actor for his role in ‘Fuera de carta’, a romantic comedy by Nacho G. Velilla that also won the Audience Award.

The cinema of director Mario Camus, responsible for iconic films such as ‘The Hive’ or ‘Los santos inocentes’, was the subject of the retrospective of this edition, which offered a lot of attention. a tribute to Fernando Fernán Gómez, who died five months earlier at the age of 86. Casting director Luis San Narciso received an award. the Ricardo Franco Award and the incombustible Concha Velasco was recognized with the Málaga Award for her professional career.
