We present the seventh edition of VENTANA CINÉFILA, a tool with which we intend to accompany the approximation of concepts and content related to audiovisual culture and its codes.
This initiative is being carried out with the invaluable collaboration of the Filmin digital platform and the teamwork of other festivals driving the ProFestivales21 alliance: the Valladolid International Film Week, the Málaga Film Festival, the Huelva Film Festival, the Seville Film Festival and the Sitges Film Festival.
In this edition, we are continuing, on the Filmin platform, to present an introductory video for each of the feature films, in which the ProFestivales21 programmers explain why each film in the programme has been selected.
To complement the films, a series of teaching guides has been produced by the team at Drac Mágic, a social enterprise that has received numerous accolades, including the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, the National Audiovisual Award and the Joan Coromines National Award.
One of our most important tasks as cultural agents is to support teachers with this programme by providing pupils with high-quality content that gives them a more comprehensive understanding of audiovisual codes and fosters critical thinking; these guides, available to teachers, are designed to foster a much richer and broader classroom debate.
VENTANA CINÉFILA brings together a carefully curated selection of 21 titles (feature films and short films) by contemporary European and Latin American filmmakers, showcasing a range of perspectives, themes and narratives that challenge us across the board. This free online section, designed entirely for schools, is available via Filmin.es, and any school wishing to take part can apply to access these screenings from 15 September to 15 October.
