SYNOPSIS El Molino tells the story of Mayte, an engineer who returns to a small town of only 12 inhabitants to carry out an important project. Her visit coincides with the preparations of the valley's annual event. Jaime his childhood boyfriend, an old man with Alzheimer's, a young woman who dreams of leaving the valley, a graduate who works with the engineer, and a woman looking for a future in the town, make up this story of characters, whose lives are connected by an old windmill.
Alfonso Cortés-Cavanillas
Director and filmmaker with more than 25 years of experience in the production of films, documentaries and television programs. As the CEO of the production company La Caña Brothers, he is responsible for successful information and docufiction projects. In 2012 he presented his first feature film
Los días no vividos, and he won the best film award at the Cinemafest Festival in Mexico. Six years later he directed
Sordo, starring Asier Etxeandia, Marian Álvarez and Imanol Arias, among others. it won the Feroz Critics Award in 2019 and was finalist at the Malaga Film Festival. In 2021 he directs
Ego, a thriller starring Maria Pedraza. In 2023 he premiered
Lobo at the Gijón International Film Festival.
