SYNOPSIS The disappearance of his wife leaves Fernando, a quiet geography professor, completely devastated. Without direction, he assumes the identity of another man as the gardener of a Portuguese estate, where he establishes an unexpected friendship with the landlady, entering a new life that does not belong to him.
Avelina Prat She is a writer and director based in Spain. A graduate in Architecture, she worked as an architect for a few years before dedicating herself to cinema. Her first feature film, Vasil, 2022, a Spanish-Bulgarian co-production produced by Distinto Films and Activist38, premiered at the Warsaw International Film Festival and won the Best Actor Award at the Valladolid International Film Festival - SEMINCI. In the field of short films, Prat stands out with her work 3/105, which premiered worldwide at the Venice Biennale. She has worked as a script supervisor on more than thirty feature films, with directors such as Fernando Trueba, Cesc Gay, Javier Rebollo, and Lucile Hadzihalilovic. The Portuguese House is her second feature film.
