SYNOPSIS Watch Over Us tells the story of Victoria López, a mother of three infants, sentenced to seven years for drug sales. A state program allowed Victoria to remain at home until her newborn twins turned one, at which point she must surrender herself to serve her sentence. Filmed in strict verité, this documentary follows this painful countdown, as Victoria, her mother Dawn, and her daughter Aijah reflect on their lives in a small rural town in Minnesota. 34,000 feet above them, commercial airplanes cut across the skies of the American Midwest.
Carlos García de Dios Began his career as a cinematographer in New York, although he has filmed numerous projects in Spain, including Paco de Lucía: The Search by Curro Sánchez Varela and Is the Enemy There? The Gila Movie by Alexis Morante. Carlos has shot several documentaries, such as Siempre, Luis by John Antonio James, eventually beginning his career as a director with his award-winning short film Subway. Today, he is a founding partner of Unsinkable Films. FILMOGRAPHY Subway (short film, 2019)
