The Solidarity Space brings together more than 40 social groups at the 29th Festival de Málaga
From 7 to 14 March, Plaza de la Merced will host free activities to promote integration and inclusion.

The Festival de Málaga and Málaga City Council —through its Department of Social Rights, Diversity, Equality and Accessibility— are once again organising the Solidarity Space this year in collaboration with the “la Caixa” Foundation. This event will take place from 7 to 14 March in Plaza de la Merced as part of the 29th Festival de Málaga.

Councillor for Social Rights, Diversity, Equality and Accessibility, Francisco Cantos; territorial manager for Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla at “la Caixa” Foundation, Juan Carlos Barroso; commercial director at Caixabank in Malaga, Cordoba, Almería, Ceuta and Melilla, Carmen González Novo, and director of the Festival de Málaga, Juan Antonio Vigar, have today presented the Solidarity Space programme at the Cervantes Theatre.

The Solidarity Space aims to open the Festival to diverse social groups and promote their inclusion. To this end, 42 associations and social organisations from the city will participate, promoting and enhancing the visibility of these community groups. This eighth edition will again feature a model based on educational activities (free and open to the public) presented by the participating associations, covering a wide range of topics. It is therefore a cross-cutting initiative, with activities of all kinds (screenings, round tables, workshops,…) with an inclusive and social theme.

This space’s programme will address issues related to childhood, equality, health, the elderly, violence and social integration, among others:
