‘Querido trópico' brings the Focus Guest Country section of the 29th Festival de Málaga to a close.
On Saturday 14 March, the Albéniz Cinema will screen the documentary by the Panamanian director Ana Endara

The 29th Festival de Málaga concluded its Guest Country Focus section this Saturday, 14 March, with an unmissable event at the Albéniz Cinema: the screening of the documentary ‘Querido trópico’ by Ana Endara. This year, Panama was the country selected to promote its culture, bringing three films on different themes.

Ana Endara, a director and screenwriter specialising in documentaries, often shares different perspectives on Panamanian society while exploring the sense of belonging. In 'Querido trópico' we find a Panama enveloped by a tropical garden, which becomes the stage for the encounter of two societies converging on the same timeline: one, the upper-class woman suffering from dementia—which has robbed her of everything she once was—and the other, her caregiver, an immigrant woman who finds herself alone and harbours a deep secret.
With this session, the 29th Festival de Málaga concludes its Guest Country Focus section for this year, looking ahead to the next guest country that will showcase Latin American cinema.
