The Festival de Málaga announces the fifth edition of its grants for the development of audiovisual projects

The aim of this call for proposals, with a total budget of €60,000, is to encourage and boost audiovisual creation in the province

Encouraging and boosting audiovisual creation in the province is the goal of the grants for the development of audiovisual projects created by the Festival de Málaga (organised by Málaga City Council), whose fifth call for proposals opens today. The purpose of the grants is to support audiovisual projects for their development as feature films (fiction, documentary or animation) which can subsequently be made into a work to be shown in cinemas, on television or on digital platforms.

The maximum total budget of the grants is €60,000. Grants will be awarded to applicants whose projects receive the highest scores according to the criteria outlined in the terms and conditions (which can be found in the Grants section of the Festival de Málaga website), with a maximum amount of €20,000 per project.

The call is open to owners of production companies based in the province of Málaga whose purpose is film or audiovisual activity. These companies may be sole proprietorships, commercial or civil companies, worker cooperatives, or other legal structures. Each applicant may submit a maximum of two projects, although only one will be eligible for funding.

The purpose of the grants is to finance the cost of carrying out the activities required to create the audiovisual work before filming or production, such as script development costs; project definition and financing and co-production costs; and the design and production of promotional materials for the project.

Projects must be submitted within 30 calendar days from the day following the publication of this call for proposals. The deadline for submission is 30 May 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The evaluation of the projects will be carried out by a technical committee whose members will be chosen from among people with recognised experience in the audiovisual sector.
