SYNOPSIS Jaén has no sea, no mosque, nor the Alhambra. Until recently, it seemed to have only olive trees. Five Michelin stars in seven years have transformed Andalusia's most forgotten province. A feat symbolised by Juan Carlos, from Vandelvira restaurant, wearing his T-shirt ‘They said there was nothing in Jaén’ at the historic 2024 Michelin Gala. With texts by Antonio Muñoz Molina, dance by Marcat Dance and migration as a backdrop, we raise a cry that transcends gastronomy and celebrates this revolution.
