SYNOPSIS Daniel Mantovani, an Argentine writer awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, left his hometown forty years ago and moved to Europe, where he achieved success by writing about his native town of Salas and its characters. At the peak of his career, the mayor of Salas invites him to be named an “Illustrious Citizen,” and Mantovani, against all expectations, decides to cancel his tight schedule and accept the invitation.
