Joaquín del Paso
Born in Mexico City in 1986, is a Mexican filmmaker known for incisive portraits of social hierarchies. Trained at EICTV in Cuba and the Polish National Film School in Łódź, he debuted with
Maquinaria Panamericana / Panamerican Machinery (Berlinale 2016), winner of the Ariel for Best Original Screenplay. His second feature,
El hoyo en la cerca / The Hole in the Fence (Venice 2021), won the Bisato d’Oro and Best Feature at Cairo.
