The nineteenth edition of the Málaga Festival began with a marked Málaga accent, since a good part of the filming of ‘Toro’, the inaugural film, took place in the city. It was carried out both in the city itself and in different parts of the Costa del Sol. For this, the participation and support of the Málaga Film Office, the filming office dependent on the Málaga festival that is in charge of assisting, was essential. to those productions that choose Málaga as the setting. The action thriller signed by Kike Maíllo filled the audience. The red carpet opening, which was attended by many, was full of stars. much of the film's cast, including Mario Casas, Luis Tosar, Ingrid García Jonsson, Alberto López and Nya de la Rubia.
‘Callback’, by Carles Torras, was the winner of the Biznaga de oro, a thriller that also received a prize. the awards for best actor (Martín Bacigalupo) and best script. Although the film that won the most awards was was ‘La propera pell’ (The next skin), by Isaki Lacuesta and Isa Campo, which won no less than five awards: the Special Jury Award, the Critics' Jury Award and those for best direction, best actress (Emma Suárez) and best editing.
For its part, ‘Kóblic’, by Sebastiñ with the awards for best supporting actor (Óscar Martínez) and for best photography. Silvia Maya received a the best actress award for her work in ‘Julie & rsquo; and Silvia Pérez Cruz won the award for best music for ‘Cerca de tu casa’.
Editor Teresa Font added more than 1,000 films. her name to the winner of the Ricardo Franco Award, with which the Malaga Festival remembers the ill-fated director of ‘La buena estrella’ and distinguishes the great technicians of Spanish cinema.
