History of previous editions of the Malaga Festival

The Málaga Festival opened the doors of its seventh edition as a remarkably consolidated event whose impact was increasing year after year. The ensemble comedy ‘La mirada violeta’, by Nacho Pérez de la Paz and Jesús Ruiz, starring Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, was the film in charge of inaugurating a high-level Official Section.

‘Héctor’, by Gracia Querejeta, was awarded the Biznaga de oro and the award for best female performance for her leading lady, Adriana Ozores. Vicente Peñarrocha's debut film, ‘Fuera del cuerpo’, also garnered a lot of attention. two awards: those corresponding to best direction and best script. For his part, Pablo Carbonell, director and protagonist of ‘Atún and chocolate’, received a prize. the award for best actor, while the Special Jury Award went to ‘León y olvido’, by Xavier Bermúdez.

The award given by the public was received by the public. ‘Things that make life worthwhile’, a film by Manuel Gómez Pereira starring Ana Belén, Eduard Fern’ Sexton.

Geraldine Chaplin, daughter of the legendary Charles Chaplin and muse of filmmaker Carlos Saura, was awarded the Málaga Award at this seventh edition of the Málaga Festival, which was awarded by the Málaga Award. The Ricardo Franco Award was awarded to the producer Enrique González Macho and he dedicated her retrospective of the work of Fernando Trueba.
