The Festival de Málaga was born in 1998, organised by the Malaga City Council aiming to encourage the dissemination and promotion of Spanish cinema, to be a national and international benchmark in the field of film events and to contribute to the development of Malaga as an open and cultural city.
The Malaga event, which in 2025 is holding its 28th edition from the 14th to the 23rd of March, makes a powerful contribution to the development of Spanish film by presenting its best fiction feature films, documentaries, short films, and more. It also pays tribute to different figures in the film industry and organises cycles, exhibitions and parallel activities.
As such, the Festival de Málaga aims to reach out to all audiences and in its desire to present and promote a broad overview of film culture. It is always looking for training, creativity and innovation, within the framework of an activity that stands out for its dynamic nature in continuous development and change.
