La vida de Brianeitor: a life lesson of a documentary about the young gamer and streamer by Álvaro Longoria, premiered at the Festival de Málaga
The biographical documentary traces the life of the young man from Almeria, who has almost three million followers on his social networks
On Monday, the 27th edition of the Festival de Málaga programmed a special screening of La vida de Brianeitor, a biographical documentary directed by Álvaro Longoria about Brian Albacete, a boy with degenerative muscular atrophy since birth, who has become a renowned gamer and streamer.
Brianeitor2002, as 22-year-old from Almeria is known, has amassed almost three million followers across his TikTok, Twitch, Twitter and YouTube accounts, platforms that have catapulted him to popularity, especially among the younger generations. With mobility in only two fingers due to his illness, Brian made his first film appearance as part of the cast of Campeonex, the second instalment of the popular film directed by Javier Fesser. Some of the protagonists of the film were present at the screening of the documentary, which was presented in the morning at the Teatro Cervantes Cineforum.
According to the director Álvaro Longoria, the documentary 'attempts to tell life through Brian's eyes, from his philosophy, and, at the same time, shine a light on the world of video games and the internet, so unknown to some sectors of society'. With a Goya Award for best documentary in 2012 with Hijos en la Nube, Longoria has described the learning experience of working with Brian as 'learning to enjoy the moment instead of continually setting goals, which makes us forget how much fun it is to live day by day'.
The director was also joined in the talk by Luis Manso, producer of the project; Paco Albacete, father of the protagonist and a fundamental part in his life; as well as Brianeitor, who stressed that 'the world of acting is wonderful:' and offered a lesson in life, both through the documentary and his words: 'You have to enjoy yourself, have a good attitude, and make an effort to achieve what you set out to achieve', concluded the popular figure to applause and cheers.
