SYNOPSIS Dimitri Cachitev, a high-ranking officer in the Soviet army, tastes rice pudding in the middle of the battle of Stalingrad and realises that the war will never give him the pleasure that this dessert has given him. After this, he leaves the army and retires to Montejaque, a village in Malaga.
Manolo Orellana Naranjo
Montejaque, Malaga, 1998. He always knew that he wanted to write, so after studying Psychology, he decided to graduate in Screenwriting at the ECAM, Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid, where he wrote the short film Donde acaban las flores, 2023, which is currently in distribution phase. His first professional short film as a director, Los horrores de la guerra, has been selected for the Malaga Film Festival. He still lives in Madrid, where he combines his work as a scriptwriter with directing, searching for stories with that particular surrealist humour that permeates his world full of prawns, envious people and astronauts with Malaga accents.
