SYNOPSIS Quique has been asked to lead the politics of Empty Spain in a village in Teruel, but he doesn't even know where to start. He is faced alone with a town willing to take him for a ride with his modern proposals and, as if that were not enough, he soon discovers that sending him there is a plan by his girlfriend and the leader of his party to be together. He can only count on his good will and on Lourdes, the barmaid, who wants to prevent the poor man from continuing to make a fool of himself and to make him understand that the key to his success is learn to listen to his new neighbors.
Emilio Martínez-Lázaro

With fifty years of experience and nearly thirty credits to his name, he made his directorial debut in 1978 with Las palabras de Max, a film that won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Since then, he has built a career that combines significant commercial success with critical acclaim. Among his commercial successes are El otro lado de la cama and its sequel, Los dos lados de la cama, which together grossed 20 million euros. In terms of critical success, Las 13 rosas stands out, winning four Goya Awards and being nominated for a dozen more. His film Ocho apellidos vascos became the highest-grossing Spanish film in history, and its sequel, Ocho apellidos catalanes, attracted a total of fifteen million viewers.
