SYNOPSIS Ellas en la ciudad is about the first settlers of the neighbourhoods on the outskirts. Through their lives in three neighbourhoods of Seville, we discover how they are the support of a city that turns its back on them. The stories talk about gender, care, urban planning, education and political struggles. Their testimonies are essential to learn about, from a gender perspective, the cultural heritage of our country and the transformation of our cities in the last 50 years.

Reyes Gallegos Rodríguez Seville, 1979. Urban Planning Architect. Andalusia Urban Planning Award 2016 and COAS Award 2021. Director of the projects The Living City, Plan Reaviva, Them in the City, and Seville, City of 15 Minutes. Professor in the Department of Urban Planning at the University of Architecture, Reyes began researching sustainable urban planning with a gender perspective for her Ph.D. She has been involved in numerous urban planning projects. She is the author of the photo series #ellasenlaciudad, whose protagonists and their great, though unknown, stories shaped the feature-length documentary that she wrote, directed, and shot in 2024.
