SYNOPSIS Northern Chile witnessed the country’s most violent anti-migration protest when 4,000 people marched through the city of Iquique, culminating in the burning of tents and attacks on migrant families and children, as police stood by. Crossing the Andean highlands, the Atacama Desert, and the coastal cliffs into the urban makeshift camps, Unwelcomed portrays, through a choral journey, the Venezuelan migration crisis in Latin America alongside the cultural clash and rising radicalization in frontier communities.
