SYNOPSIS In 1995, Spain had an undisputed idol: Chiquito de la Calzada. His language permeated the streets, television studios, and even official speeches. Politicians, athletes, and the King himself bowed to the comedian who had revolutionized a generation. But one night, the most-watched program on private television decided to pull off a masterstroke: introducing Lucas Grijander, a character eerily similar to Chiquito. So similar, in fact, that he soon began to take his place.

He has spent more than two decades as Creative and Marketing Director for Warner television channels, and for the past several years has worked as Creative Director at the agency Modoloop. He has also served as Executive Producer on documentaries such as
El último adiós de Bette Davis,
2001 destellos en la oscuridad, and
Regreso a Viridiana, all of which were nominated for Goya Awards. In 2022, he co-wrote and co-directed, together with Juan Zavala, the documentary
El crítico, about film critic Carlos Boyero. He has also co-directed with Juan Zavala the documentary
El otro Chiquito for Movistar Plus+.

Juan Zavala
Juan Zavala is a journalist specializing in film. He has worked for media outlets such as Cadena SER and Canal Plus, served as Director of Communications for the television channel TCM, and is currently Head of Content at DAMA, the audiovisual authors’ rights management entity. He has worked as a screenwriter and producer on documentaries such as
Regreso a Viridiana, winner of the Goya Award for Best Documentary Short Film in 2012,
El último adiós de Bette Davis, and
Nostromo: el sueño imposible de David Lean, among others. He also directed the medium-length documentary
África en Cinecicleta. His latest documentary,
El crítico, a portrait of film critic Carlos Boyero, written and directed in collaboration with Javier Morales Pérez, premiered in 2022 at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

Diego San José (creador)
Screenwriter for film and television specializing in comedy. He began his career writing for humor programs such as
Vaya Semanita and
El Intermedio. In 2009, he made his first foray into cinema alongside Borja Cobeaga, with whom he wrote
Pagafantas, awarded Best New Screenplay at the Málaga Film Festival. He also co-wrote
8 apellidos vascos with Cobeaga, the highest-grossing Spanish film in history. In recent years, he has created the series
Yakarta and
Celeste.
