SYNOPSIS Basilio is hired to take care of a deserted beach in Baja California. In this paradise, where nothing seems to happen, many things occur, some of them illegal. Basilio, who is a man of strong moral rules, seeks to do the right thing. However, what he believes to be the right thing to do may work against him in a community he barely knows.
Nuria Ibáñez
A director and screenwriter, she studied screenwriting at the CCC in Mexico, where she directed three documentaries:
La cuerda floja (2009),
El cuarto desnudo (2013), and
Una corriente salvaje (2018). Her films have been selected for and awarded at IDFA, Visions du Réel, Cinéma du Réel, Sheffield, Viennale, BAFICI, and DocumentaMadrid. In 2019, she received the True Vision Award at the True/False Film Festival for
El Guardián, and in 2025 she won Best First Feature at the Morelia Film Festival.
