The 25th Festival of Málaga, held from March 18 to 27, has ended with the reinforced support of the sector, the city, the public and the institutions, which have unanimously applauded the festival. Success achieved in an edition that has returned to pre-pandemic figures in terms of tickets issued and collection and that has aroused enormous interest and international participation. Its director, Juan Antonio Vigar, assures that the event “has achieved its objective of utility and has complied with the four Cs that must mark all cultural projects: content, communication, context (in the sense that it is rooted in the city) and commitment (with the sector, with society and with its environment)”.
Following the objective of being a reflection of current Spanish-language cinema, the Official Section has brought together prominent names in our cinema together with very promising names, which consolidate the Malaga festival as a discoverer of new talent. This fact has been verified for another year in the list of winners of the Festival, in which Five wolves< /a>, by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, and Utama, by Alejandro Loayza Grisi, have resulted winners.
The number of films programmed in the 25th edition has been 186 and the number of sessions 216, to which we must add concerts, exhibitions, meetings, presentations, etc., in addition to the almost 90 activities held in the Solidarity Space. Thus, the contest has had more than 80,000 spectators and participants in its different activities.
