Festival de Málaga announces grants for audiovisual production for 2025
The deadline for the application of projects for the production of short films is January 17 and they will receive a maximum of €6,000

For the twelfth consecutive year, the Festival de Málaga announces the audiovisual production grants with the aim of encouraging and boosting audiovisual projects in Málaga. These grants are aimed at projects for the production of action, animation or documentary short films with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and free subject. The deadline for submission is January 17th, 2025.
These will be grants of variable amounts, determined in each case by the technical jury constituted for this purpose, with a maximum amount per selected project of €6,000 and a maximum total amount of €50,000 for the financial year 2025.
This call is open to natural persons, regardless of age, who were born, live, study or work in the province of Malaga, as well as companies and professionals from the audiovisual industry whose business address is in the province of Malaga. Each participant may present a maximum of two projects in this call.

To continue with the Festival de Málaga's commitment to environmental sustainability, projects whose documentation is submitted on paper will not be accepted, so they must be sent to the following email address ayudas@malagaprocultura.com with the following subject: Ayudas a la Creación Audiovisual 2025 / Title of the project.

The selected projects will be advised by a technical jury (made up of directors, screenwriters, producers and technicians of renown in Spanish film) through a mentoring session aimed at improving and adjusting the proposals to the requirements of the call for proposals. In previous editions, those selected have had excellent tutors such as Isaki Lacuesta, Rafa Cobos, Gracia Querejeta, Manuel Martín Cuenca, Mariela Besuievsky, Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Santi Amodeo, Xavi Puebla, Javier Ruiz Caldera, Alberto Rodríguez and Paco Cabezas, among others.

The selected projects will be announced at the 28th Festival de Málaga (from March 14th to 23rd, 2025). For the widest possible dissemination of the works produced, the audiovisuals projects resulting from this call will be included in a special section of the programme of the 29th Festival de Málaga, which will take place in 2026.
The terms and conditions and registration form can be downloaded from the Festival de Málaga website.
