SYNOPSIS Ulf, a German with a sharp tongue, is an internationally renowned butterfly specialist. Jota, a witty Paraguayan, is considered the foremost bird expert in the country. They have been studying Paraguay's forests for decades, witnessing relentless deforestation and man-made forest fires. Sebastian, on the other hand, is fascinated by an endangered dry forest ecosystem called The Chaco, the largest green mass in South America after the Amazon.
Sebastián Peña Escobar
Asunción, 1973. Paraguayan director, screenwriter and producer. He studied Economics and Business in Paraguay, the United States and Italy. Since 2002 he has been developing and producing magazines, books and films. He has published essays on cultural theory and history, as well as prose, poetry, editorials and articles. His filmography as co-producer: In 2015 Guaraní, a feature film directed by Luís Zorraquín. Official Selection at Tallinn Black Nights. Also in 2015, New Girls 24 Hours, a documentary directed by Mabel Lozano, nominated for best documentary at the Goya Awards. As main producer: 2018, The Heiresses, a feature film directed by Marcelo Martinessi, which received the Silver Bears Alfred Bauer and best actress in Berlinale.
