SYNOPSIS When her mother dies, Blanca has just turned forty. To escape her grief, she finds refuge in sex with lovers, ex-husbands, and any other casual liaison that will make her forget, if only for a while, that her mother is dead. Unable to put her adult life as an 'orphan' in the city in order, and almost as an escape, Blanca decides to travel to her mother's house in the small fishing village of Cadaqués.

Maria Ripoll Barcelona, 1964. She is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. She studied at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, La Fémis, and the American Film Institute. She made her debut with Twice Upon a Yesterday in 1998, which won an award at the Montreal Film Festival and earned a nomination for Best New Director at the Goya Awards. Tortilla Soup, in 2001, received 9 ALMA Award nominations. In 2014, she won the Gaudí Award for Best Film with Rastros de sándalo. She also directed Ahora o nunca in 2015, Don’t Blame Your Karma in 2016, Live Twice, Love Once in 2019, and Guerra de likes in 2021. She has also worked in television, with Chromosome 5 and the series A Private Affair in 2022. Her latest film, También esto pasará will premiere in Málaga in 2025.
