SYNOPSIS In silent house deep in the countryside, 96 year old Branca has Lola, her last remaining dog, as her only companion. One day her granddaughter comes to visit, and starts asking questions about her spirituality, recollections and perspectives for the future. These open the portals of her memory, and little by little Branca’s remembrances and the small objects that hold them come to life, intertwining time and space, past and future, life and death.
Luiza Calagian
A Brazilian director and director of photography, her work has been screened and awarded at some of the world’s most important festivals. Her first feature film,
Arrow for a Stone Heart, is currently in distribution. Graduated in Cinematography at the International Film and Television School of Cuba - EICTV, where she also took a Master’s in Creative Documentary. Was a Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires 2025 alumni. Is the founder of the independent production company Mata Fechada Films.
