Fundación Unicaja presents a documentary about its meetings with film directors cycle at the Festival de Málaga
The preview of 'Miradas del cine español' took place this Friday in Andalusia’s Tourism and Sports Hall
Fundación Unicaja celebrates the 25th anniversary of its cycle ‘Encuentros con directores de cine (meetings with film directors)’ by presenting the documentary 'Miradas del cine español', made by Enrique Iznaola and Ignacio Ortega. The project premiered during the Malaga Festival this Friday in Andalusia’s Tourism and Sports headquarters.
The documentary looks at the last decades of Spanish cinema through almost 70 interviews with filmmakers who have participated in the series, such as Fernando Trueba, Imanol Uribe, Carlos Saura, Ángeles González-Sinde, Mabel Lozano and Pablo Berger, among others. In it they review their productions and share their vision on different general topics in the industry, such as the evolution of Spanish film and the emergence of digital platforms.
'Miradas del cine español' was recorded in different settings in our country such as the Teatro Cervantes in Almería, the Fundación Unicaja María Cristina Hall in Málaga, the Multicines Centro in Cádiz, the Teatro Municipal de Martos (Jaén), the Teatro de La Merced and the patio at the Cazorla Town Hall (Jaén), the Old Hospital of San Juan de Dios and the Ibero Museum of Jaén, the Cervantes Institutes, the School of Cinematography and Audiovisuals, and the headquarters of the Foundation of Performing Artists, Entity of Intellectual Property Rights Management of Madrid.
The Altahabana production company took part in the project, alongside the producer Luis Tejera and with the production direction by Alicia Pardina, photography by Paco Cuenca, music and sound editing by Pachi García, Alis, and sound editing by Arte Sonora Estudios.
In its more than two decades of existence, the 'Meetings with film directors' cycle of the Unicaja Foundation has held more than 200 meetings in the cities of Almería, Málaga and Cádiz, bringing the seventh art closer to more than 60,000 people, of who have been able to learn about Spanish cinema’s best films thanks to the directors.
