SYNOPSIS Concha de Plata for best director with his debut film, Del rosa... al amarillo, Manolo Summers was the great revelation of Spanish cinema. As time went on, he became a very popular figure, while the criticism became more intense. Now we will get to know his personality through his own testimonies, as well as through what his films tell us about him, and with the help of film critics, directors, professionals and his family, we will discover Summers the rebel.
Miguel Olid Doctor cum laude in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Seville, specializing in Film History, he is the author of several books on Spanish and Latin American cinema. He has been writing in the press for 30 years, and has published in El País, El País Semanal, ABC, La Razón, Cinemanía and in the cultural supplements Babelia and ABC Cultural, among many other media. Currently, he directs and presents the program Andalucía y el cine on Radio Andalucía Información (Canal Sur Radio). He has been researching the work of Manolo Summers since 2015 and is finishing writing a book about this filmmaker.
