The Malaga Festival calls for applications for audiovisual creation grants for 2023
The deadline for the submission of projects for the production of short films is the 28th of February, and they will be granted a maximum of €6,000.

For the tenth consecutive year, the Malaga Festival announces the audiovisual creation grants with the aim of encouraging and boosting audiovisual creation in Malaga. These grants are aimed at projects for the production of short films, animation or documentary films with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and free subject. The deadline for submission is the 28th of February 2023.

These will be variable amount grants, determined in each case by the technical jury constituted for this purpose, with a maximum amount per selected project of €6,000 and a total amount of a maximum of €50,000 for the financial year 2023.

This call is open to individuals, without age limit, who were born, live, study or work in the province of Malaga, as well as companies and professionals from the audiovisual sector whose tax domicile is in the province of Malaga. Each participant may present a maximum of two projects in this call.

In order to continue with the Malaga Festival's commitment to environmental sustainability, projects whose documentation is submitted on paper will not be accepted, so these must be sent to the email address ayudas@malagaprocultura.com with the following subject: Ayudas a la Creación Audiovisual 2023 / Title of the project.

The selected projects will be advised by a technical jury (made up of directors, scriptwriters, producers and prestigious technicians of Spanish cinema) through a project tutorial aimed to improve and adjust the proposals to the requirements of the call. In previous editions, those selected have had excellent tutors such as Isaki Lacuesta, Rafa Cobos, Gracia Querejeta, Manuel Martín Cuenca, Mariela Besuievsky, Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Santi Amodeo, Xavi Puebla, Javier Ruiz Caldera, Alberto Rodríguez and Paco Cabezas.

The selected projects will be announced at the 26th Malaga Festival (from the 10th to the 19th of March 2023). For the widest possible dissemination of the works produced, the audiovisuals resulting from this call will be included in a special section of the programme of the 27th Malaga Festival, which will take place in 2024.

The requirements and application form can be downloaded from the Malaga Festival website.
