Festival de Málaga will promote Andalusian scriptwriters in the section -Entre Guiones- of Ventana Sur

This new call for entries is sponsored by the Andalusian Ministry of Tourism and Andalucía Exterior with the collaboration of the Andalusian Film Academy

The Festival de Málaga, through its Industry Area MAFIZ, participates in the project -Entre Guiones-, organised and developed by Ventana Sur, which will take place from the 2nd to the 6th of December 2024 in Montevideo (Uruguay). The purpose of this collaboration between the Festival de Málaga and Ventana Sur is to include Andalusian talent in this event, through its screenwriters and their works, in order to develop a stronger and more solid Ibero-American film industry in the international market. This initiative is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and Andalucía Exterior and with the collaboration of the Andalusian Film Academy as the representative body of the Andalusian audiovisual sector.

-Entre Guiones- is an initiative created by Ventana Sur to give a diverse selection of scripts the chance to transcend borders and reach the international market. It is also an opportunity for producers and professionals from the rest of the world who seek to connect with the creativity of Ibero-America without intermediaries. In this way, -Entre Guiones- aims to promote the talent of the authors, an unavoidable first step in any film production.

The Festival de Málaga joins this project and opens a call for Andalusian scriptwriters, from which a maximum of five fiction feature film scripts will be chosen. A committee made up of representatives from the Festival de Málaga/MAFIZ, Ventana Sur and the Andalusian Film Academy will be responsible for selecting the scripts. This section is open to unpublished fiction feature film scripts that are still in the preliminary stages of writing (both original works and adaptations).

During the five days of Ventana Sur, the Andalusian audiovisual industry will have a significant presence in one of the world's strategic markets in front of international buyers, sales agents, decision makers, investors, festival programmers, production companies and industry professionals. A unique opportunity, through which we seek to boost the internationalisation of the Andalusian audiovisual industry and support the beginning of the value chain of a film: the scriptwriters and their scripts.
