Malaga Festival, San Sebastian Festival and Orca Films promote MASS, a Spanish film season in Buenos Aires and Montevideo
With the collaboration of Spain’s Ministry of Culture, the films ‘La Casa’, ‘Los destellos’, ‘Mugaritz. Sin pan ni postre’, ‘Segundo premio’ and ‘Soy Nevenka’ will screen in November and December

The Malaga Festival, the San Sebastian Festival and the Argentine production company Orca Films promote MASS, a season of six films with Spanish production to show in Buenos Aires from 28-30 November and again from 2-4 December in Uruguay during Ventana Sur, Latin America’s biggest audiovisual market. This activity, which enjoys the collaboration of Spain’s Ministry of Culture through the Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA), takes place in the framework of support for internationalization of Spanish cinema and of the collaboration of both festivals with the Argentine industry.

As well as the directors of the San Sebastian and Malaga festivals, José Luis Rebordinos and Juan Antonio Vigar, a Spanish delegation will travel to Buenos Aires and Montevideo on behalf of the films. For its part, the San Sebastian Festival takes two of the films from its Official Selection: Soy Nevenka / I Am Nevenka, winner of the Euskadi Basque Country 2030 Agenda Award, to be introduced in both cities by its director Iciar Bollaín, and Los destellos / Glimmers, recognised with the Silver Shell for Best Leading Performance, in the company of moviemaker Pilar Palomero. Completing the bill are Mugaritz. Sin pan ni postre, which carried off the Culinary Zinema Award and will be presented by its director, Paco Plaza, accompanied by the chef featuring in the documentary, Andoni Luis Aduriz.

Screening in the case of the Malaga Festival are Segundo premio / Saturn Return, winner of the Golden Biznaga for Best Spanish Film and Silver Biznaga for Best Director and Best Editing, accompanied by one of its directors, Pol Rodríguez, and by the producer Cristobal García; Nina, recipient of the Special Critics’ Jury Award, to be introduced by the actress Aina Picarolo; and La casa, winner of the Silver Biznaga for Best Screenplay and Best Score and of the Audience Award, to be introduced by actresses Lorena López and Marta Belenguer.

The films will screen at the Complejo Teatral in Buenos Aires (in the Leopoldo Lugones Cinema, San Martin Theatre) and at Movie Montevideo Shopping in Montevideo. In connection with the screenings will be a press conference, a debate between the directors of San Sebastián and Málaga at the Torre Banco Macro auditorium, talks, meetings and meeting points for the Spanish, Argentine and Uruguayan industries. A cocktail will also be served in both cities, in collaboration with the Etxepare Euskal Institutua, prepared by the chef Roberto Ruiz (Hika) with Basque and Andalusian products.
During their stay in Argentina, the San Sebastian and Malaga Festivals will meet representatives of the Buenos Aires provinces –  Entre Ríos and Santiago del Estero – to work on drawing up a collaboration agreement to promote exchange and relations between Spanish and Argentine cinema.
