Films from the 27th Festival de Málaga receive 30 nominations for the Goya Awards 2025
‘Segundo premio’, winner of last year's Golden Biznaga, is up for eleven nominations for the Spanish film awards


The films that participated in the 27th Festival de Málaga have received a total of 30 nominations for the Goya Awards 2025. Actress Natalia de Molina and actor Álvaro Cervantes announced today from Granada the nominations for the Film Academy Awards, which will celebrate their 39th edition on the 8th of February 2015.
 
Last year's Golden Biznaga of the Festival, Segundo premio, directed by Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez, is among the most nominated films with a total of 11 nominations, including Best Film and Best Direction, categories that won it both awards in Malaga, to which it added Best Editing (Javier Frutos), for which it is also nominated for the Goya Awards. It is also nominated for Best Original Song, for ‘Love is the Worst’ by Alondra Bentley and Isaki Lacuesta; Best New Actor for Cristalino and Daniel Ibáñez; Best Production Direction for Carlos Amoedo; Best Cinematography for Takuro Takeuchi; Best Art Direction; Best Costume Design for Lourdes Fuentes and Best Sound for Diana Sagrista, Eva Valiño, Alejandro Castillo and Antonín Dalmasso.
 
Dragonkeeper, by Salvador Simó and Li Jianping, has been nominated for Best Animated Film, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Special Effects.
 
Álex Montoya's La casa has positioned itself in the categories of Best Supporting Actor (Óscar de la Fuente) and Best Adapted Screenplay. Meanwhile, Kike Maíllo's Disco, Ibiza, Locomía won Best Costume Design; Celia Rico Clavellino's Los pequeños amores won Best Editing; Miguel Faus's Calladita won Best New Director; and Blanca Torres's Marisol, llámame Pepa won Best Documentary Film.
 
The following films have been nominated for Best Fiction Short Film: Betiko gaua (La noche eterna), by Eneko Sagardoy; Cuarentena, by Celia de Molina; La gran obra, by Àlex Lora, and El trono, by Lucía Jiménez.
Nominated for Best Animated Short Film were Cafunè, by Lorena Ares and Carlos F. de Vigo; La mujer ilustrada, by Isabel Herguera; and Wan, by Víctor Monigote.
 
In the Best Documentary Short Film category, we find Ciao bambina, by Afioco Gnecco and Carolina Yuste; and Els buits (The Empty), by Sofía Esteve, Isa Luengo and Marina Freixa Roca.
