The season of Spanish films from Festival de Málaga and San Sebastian Festival returns to Montevideo and Buenos Aires
Produced by OrcaFilms, MASS will screen 'Karmele', 'Los tigres', 'La cena', 'Sorda', 'La buena letra' and 'Una quinta portuguesa' from 24 to 30 November

From 24 to 30 November, Montevideo and Buenos Aires will host the second edition of MASS, a cycle of six Spanish-produced films that participated in the Festival de Málaga (event organised by Málaga City Council) and the San Sebastian Festival. Produced by OrcaFilms, the initiative is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Culture through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) and Spanish Cultural Action (AC/E) through its strategic line for the internationalisation of culture. In Montevideo, MASS has the support of the Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency (ACAU), the Cinemateca and the Uruguayan Film School (ECU), while in Buenos Aires it is supported by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires with collaboration from Argentina Airports and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Argentina.

MASS, the Malaga & San Sebastian Festival Week, will offer six feature films included in the most recent editions of both festivals. From 24 to 26 November they will be screened free of charge at the Cinemateca de Uruguay, and repeated from 28 to 30 November at the Lugones Hall of San Martín Theatre in Buenos Aires. Juan Antonio Vigar and José Luis Rebordinos, the respective directors of Malaga and San Sebastian, will chair the Spanish delegation, which will also include several representatives from the teams of the selected films.

The Festival de Málaga screenings will be Sorda, winner of the Biznaga de Oro for Best Film and the Biznaga de Plata for the Audience Award, which will be presented in both cities by its director Eva Libertad and producer Miriam Porte; La buena letra, one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year, accompanied by its director Celia Rico and leading actress Loreto Mauleón; and Una quinta portuguesa, a hit with the audience on its premiere in commercial cinemas and which will be attended by filmmaker Avelina Prat and producer Miriam Porté.

The San Sebastian Festival programme will present the film Karmele, one of the Special Screenings in the Official Selection and accompanied by its director, Asier Altuna; Los tigres, winner of the Jury Prize for Best Cinematography, which will be presented by producers Koldo Zuazua and Juan Moreno, and La cena, which was scheduled at the RTVE Galas and will be represented by its director Manuel Gómez Pereira and by one of its stars, actor Asier Etxeandia.
